Judging by whose yardstick?
Hello. I'm not a scholar and so can't speak to the accuracy of what is presented here. I do, however, know that each age has its unique lenses through which it perceives and understands its reality and through this, creates its norms and mores. I'm growing weary of folk who revisit times sometimes hundreds of years past and lay judgement based on today's yardsticks. And then we put a dollar sign on it and pay a pittance to people who we should simply be treating fairly in the here and now. And who's writing books about all the good the Church did and is doing? Let's present the whole truth.
