Morgentaler
I am deeply sadden and outraged by the Canadian government's decision to bestow the Order of Canada upon Dr. Henry Morgentaler. The Canadian government is, in essence, commending the extermination of thousands of innocent, defenceless human lives. Every year thousands of human beings are killed in Canada as a result of abortion. The Canadian government, like all true democratic governments, has a critical responsibility to protect the common good. Abortion is a medical procedure which unequivocally undermines the common good of Canadian society. Some may argue that Morgentaler has saved the lives and futures of countless women. What about the countless lives and futures which have been exterminated by Morgentaler? Can we simply forget these lives and futures? Are they less important than the lives and futures of the women having abortions? Perhaps the German government will follow the Canadian government's lead by awarding the Verdienstorden der Bundesrepublik Deutschland (Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany) to Adolf Hitler for slaughtering approximately six million Jews. I can only hope and pray that the Canadian government decides to revoke Morgentaler's award immediately!

Sincerely,

Matthew Grant
