Attacks Not Surprising
The evil one is not about to cave in simply because the agents of Christ, are once more correctly identifying in favour of life. By contrast, do you ever read or hear vicious attacks against those who advocate on behalf of pets, dog's , cat's, etc.? The prince of darkness hates Jesus Christ, and all who labour on His behalf. Father Rosica, representing the formidable Salt & Life, is target number one. The forces of the evil one are marshaled with a single goal in mind. Silence this programme of truth. Silence this voice of charity and compassion for life. Stop the positive impact of truth!
In the blogosphere, verifying someone's identity is difficult. Thus, there is no way to know if the vitriolic attacks against Fr. Rosica are coming from who he thinks they are. Anyone can claim to be from a certain group, and not really be from that group. This is done all the time in order to stir up hatred against the opposition. Ex. someone who hates pro-lifers may make a death threat against someone in the pro-abort camp in order to make it look like a pro-lifer made the threat. So, unless Fr. Rosica can verify who the calls and emails came from, he is being just as reckless as others
I am amused that you quote the editor in chief of Catholic News Service on professionalism and accuracy. Last week CNS'sPatricia Zapor, a partisan if there ever was one, completely misrepresented the views of Robert Royal of The Catholic Thing on the funeral of Teddy Kennedy. Royal requested a correction and as far as I know was never given one.
The public funeral of Teddy Kennedy was a scandal and always will be. This does not mean, as Father Roscia suggests, that folks want Teddy Kennedy in hell. I suspect that prolifers are the only ones actually praying for his soul.

Weston claims that "the majority of the hundreds of postings to Rosica’s blog were respectful and charitable." Remember that, and then go there and read them for yourself! You will be horrified by what LifeSite considers "charitable."
I am pro-life, but these pro-lifers have have literally thrown the Baby (capital B) out with the bathwater.
The article claims that LifeSite is trying to "lower the temperature," but in fact they have been using this very article to fan the flames and keep the pressure on Fr. Rosica. Now they are also targeting The Catholic Register, of course.
