TORONTO - Deacon Stephen Playfair Grant, known as a man who always had an ear to listen to those in need, died Nov. 8 of brain cancer. He was 52.
Deacon Grant’s career was with the Toronto Police Service, where he was a superintendent. But his religious vocation had been as a permanent deacon for the Catholic Church since he was ordained in 1996 for the archdiocese of Toronto.
