TORONTO — The Ontario Conference of Catholic Bishops has elected its new executive committee.

Archbishop Thomas Collins, archbishop of Toronto, was chosen President, with Bishop Anthony Daniels, auxiliary bishop of London, as Vice-President.

The Ontario Conference of Catholic Bishops joined together at a plenary meeting held April 7-9 to elect the executive.

In addition, Archbishop Brendan O’Brien of Kingston and Bishop Jean-Louis Plouffe of the Sault Ste. Marie diocese will serve as Councillors on the executive.

Collins will take over from Bishop James Wingle of the diocese of St. Catharines.
