Abortion images hit Calgary streets

ImageCALGARY - The Canadian Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform is sponsoring an 11-metre-long box-bodied truck with billboards showing aborted fetuses that began cruising the streets of Calgary on Aug. 8. The controversial campaign aims to bring the true look of abortion to people.

“We call this project the ‘Reproductive “Choice” Campaign’ precisely because we want people to see what this ‘choice’ actually looks like,” said Stephanie Gray, director of the Canadian Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform.

The campaign and similar ones launched by the CCBR are not without their critics however. Earlier this year, Calgary Bishop Fred Henry withdrew support from the centre because of its use of such graphic images.

The images on the truck are accompanied by contact information, including CCBR’s web site, www.unmaskingchoice.ca.

CCBR also hosts the Genocide Awareness Campaign, a graphic display of images that compares abortion to historical acts of genocide.
