VATICAN CITY -- People need to walk together in harmony to build a more fraternal world, Pope Francis said, reflecting upon his recent trip to Romania.

MIERCUREA CIUC, Romania -- At a Marian shrine in the heart of Transylvania, Pope Francis called on Romania's Catholics to leave resentments behind and to embark on a journey of unity.

VATICAN CITY -- When the Holy Spirit speaks to men and women through the word of those who evangelize, it ignites a power strong enough to break down the barriers that divide the human family, Pope Francis said.

VATICAN CITY -- The charity of the Catholic Church must be born from prayer before "the fixed tabernacle and mobile tabernacles" -- adoring Jesus in the Eucharist and ministering to him in the poor and needy, Pope Francis said.

VATICAN CITY -- The Holy Spirit gives Christians the courage and the strength needed to engage in a loving dialogue with God that is like the dialogue of a child with his or her father, Pope Francis said.

VATICAN CITY -- When Jesus gave his disciples the "new commandment" to love others as he loved them, what was "new" was the call to love completely, without counting the cost, Pope Francis said.

VATICAN CITY -- When doctors, nurses and health care workers conscientiously object to a procedure to protect the life and dignity of their patients, they must do so respectfully, Pope Francis said.
