Though publisher Pearson Canada Ltd. has stopped printing the textbook and will cease hosting its material online in March, the Fully Alive family life program for Grades 1 through 8 will continue to be taught in Ontario Catholic schools.

I gave a talk some years ago to the Thomas More Lawyers’ Guild of Toronto. It was about the media and religion but because it was the hot issue of the day I spoke in part about the need for the Catholic Church as an institution to do more to combat the then proposed legalization of euthanasia.

Most of the elements of a 2015 sex-ed curriculum introduced by the then-governing Liberals in Ontario and repealed in 2018 by the incoming Progressive Conservative government will remain in a new Health and Physical Education curriculum announced by the province Aug. 21.
