Body of missing parishioner found in Detroit River; search continues for priest

Local authorities in Detroit search the Detroit River for two missing passengers Aug. 18, 2020, after a boating accident the previous day. Late Aug. 18, authorities found the body of Robert Chiles, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Parish in Trenton, Mich., but the second passenger, Father Stephen Rooney, St. Joseph's pastor, remained missing.

GROSSE ILE, Mich. -- Authorities found the body of Robert Chiles, 52, a member of St. Joseph Parish in Trenton, late Aug. 18 after a search of the Detroit River where he and Father Stephen Rooney, St. Joseph's pastor, went missing Aug. 16 after their boat capsized.

Latest bid to restore historic Windsor church falls through

After doing its “due diligence,” the London Diocese has turned down a donation that would help restore Windsor, Ont.’s Our Lady of the Assumption Church.

WINDSOR, Ont. - A $10-million bid to save Windsor’s historic Our Lady of Assumption Church has fallen through.
