Philippines not likely to recognize same-sex marriage, says spokesman

Despite the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision to recognize same-sex marriage, a spokesperson for the Philippines government maintains that it will not recognize same-sex marriages locally nor those performed abroad.

MANILA, Philippines - The predominantly Catholic Philippines, a former U.S. colony for 50 years, is not likely to recognize same-sex marriage despite its legalization in the United States.

Doctors group going to court to assert conscience rights

The first legal challenge to a policy that would force Ontario doctors to refer for abortions against their conscience has been announced by the Christian Medical and Dental Society.
