Catholic voters given tools for discernment

The people of Saskatchewan are going to the polls later this month and Catholics will have a tool to help them choose.

Saskatoon - A Catholic Action campaign examining issues and party platforms from a Catholic social teaching perspective is underway for the Saskatchewan election to be held Oct. 26.

Romeo Maoine was a man of Catholic action

Romeo Maoine meets Pope John Paul II. Mr. Maoine was the first director of Development and Peace. He died May 12.

Romeo Maione was all talk but it was glorious talk, talk that made things happen. Mr. Maione used every podium and platform he could find to make the Church real and alive in the world.

Montreal archdiocese restores the Catholic in new welfare agency

In response to Collective Community Services removing the “Catholic” from their name, the Montreal archdiocese created another welfare agency called Catholic Action. Bishop Thomas Dowd maintains that the two agencies will not be in competition with each other as one is faith based and the other is secular.

MONTREAL - In response to a controversial decision to drop the word “Catholic” from the name of a prominent Montreal social agency, the archdiocese has announced the launch of a new welfare agency called Catholic Action.
