Civil liberties’ group onside with campus pro-lifers

The Ontario Civil Liberties Association released a position paper agreeing that there is institutional bias against pro-lifers on university campuses in the province.

TORONTO - Pro-life groups at Ontario universities have gained an influential ally in their fight for free speech on campus.
The Ontario Civil Liberties Association (OCLA) released a position paper on April 29 opposing “the evident statutory and institutional bias that exists in Ontario against the free-expression rights of pro-life campaigners.”

Civil liberties association says withholding abortion stats an affront to democracy

TORONTO - Ontario is violating basic principles of democracy and Canada’s international treaty obligations by keeping abortion statistics secret, according to the Ontario Civil Liberties Association.

Constitutional challenge seeks truth of abortion numbers

We Need A Law campaign director Mike Schouten and media relations assistant Niki Pennings on the front lawn of Queen’s Park, where the campaign had arranged a display of 100,000 pink and blue flags to represent 100,000 abortions performed in Canada each year. The We Need A Law parent organization, ARPA Canada, is going to court to challenge an Ontario law that limits access to abortion information.

TORONTO - With 100,000 pink and blue flags littered across the front lawn of Queen’s Park representing Canada’s annual abortion toll, a blogger and a Protestant civil rights organization announced a constitutional challenge to Ontario freedom of information laws that keep all abortion statistics secret.
