Earthquake triggers landslides in western Guatemala

Rescue personnel enter a damaged building June 14 after a magnitude-6.9 earthquake in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. The earthquake, near the border with Mexico, caused moderate damage to homes, triggered some landslides across highways and injured at least one person, officials said.

SAN MARCOS, Guatemala – A magnitude 6.9 earthquake June 14 in western Guatemala resulted in landslides that closed the Inter-American Highway, which connects many Central American nations.
