U.S. bishops announce nine-week novena ahead of Supreme Court confirmation

Brett Kavanaugh, a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, and Amy Coney Barrett, a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit, are among President Donald Trump's potential nominees to replace U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy. Both Kavanaugh and Barrett are Catholic.
WASHINGTON – A Novena for the Legal Protection of Human Life is being led by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. Catholics are being encouraged to take part ahead of the Senate confirmation hearings for Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court.

South Korean bishops call on Catholics to pray novena after historic summits

SEOUL, South Korea – Following two historic summits involving North Korean Chairman Kim Jong Un, South Korea’s bishops are calling on Catholics to pray a novena for nine specific intentions for the Korean peninsula June 17 - 25.

Celebrating Marian icon of love

Fr. Philip Dabney, associate pastor of the Basilica Shrine Church of Our Mother of Perpetual Help in Boston, was presider and homilist for the novena triduum at St. Patrick’s Shrine Church.

TORONTO - In 1866, Pope Pius IX appointed the Redemptorists as custodians of the 15th-century icon of Our Mother of Perpetual Help with the mission to “make her known throughout the world.”
