 TORONTO - Catholic school boards in the Greater Toronto Area have all chosen the chairpersons who will lead them into the new year.
Most boards have handed the reins over to some new blood for 2008, though two boards will see a continuation of leadership.
For the Toronto Catholic District School Board, Catherine LeBlanc-Miller will serve the next year as chair of the largest Catholic board in the nation. Ann Andrachuk will be the vice-chair for the coming year.
In Dufferin-Peel, Bruno Iannica returns as chair of the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board, his second term as chair. At vice chair will be Anna Abbruscato, who has served in this role in the past.
The York Catholic District School Board will also be led again by a returning chair. Elizabeth Crowe remains chair, with Carol Cotton elected vice chair.
The Durham Catholic District School Board has elected Jim McCafferty as its new chair, and installed as vice-chair Janice Oldman, while for the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District board John Grisé will act as chair with Theresa Pinder elected vice chair.
Outside of the archdiocese of Toronto, Patrick Daly, a veteran of the Catholic school board in Hamilton-Wentworth, was re-elected chair while Fr. Kyran Kennedy was re-elected vice chair. In Waterloo, Wayne Buchholtz assumes the chair with Marion Thomson Howell as vice chair, and in Halton Region, Alice Anne LeMay was chosen as chair, with Joanne Matters as vice chair.
