TORONTO - Catholic Youth Studio-KSM Inc. has developed a web site to promote Bill 25 that would see April 2 declared Pope John Paul II Day in Ontario.
The new web site contains a link to a petition, which can be signed to support having a day to commemorate the late Pope John Paul II.
Bill 25 was first introduced in the Ontario Legislature April 2, 2007, by MPP Frank Klees. The bill died, however, with the call of a provincial election. Klee re-introduced the bill Dec. 13.
“We want to promote this petition as much as possible in any given way,” said Fr. Marion Gil, director for Catholic Youth Studio-KSM Inc. “The more attention that we draw to this campaign, the more likely that this initiative will be successful.”
Catholic Youth Studio-KSM Inc. is a media corporation for evangelization that is made up of religious and lay ministers. It reaches out to students, adults and religious organizations through mass media.
The late pontiff is remembered for his efforts to bridge ethnic, religious and cultural divides. His life was celebrated not only by Catholics but by people of different religious and racial communities.
Petitions can be retrieved from the web site and forwarded to any member of the legislature. Visit www.johnpaul2day.com for more information.
