Fr. Gianni Carparelli, Chair & Founder of Caritas TORONTO - Caritas, an agency dedicated to the healing and recovery of patients with drug and alcohol addiction, had a significant increase in donors for its annual telethon April 27.
This year’s telethon, Caritas’s 14th, has raised $210,000 to date, up from the $162,000 raised last year. Organizers are still hoping to top the $250,000 mark within the next month.
Broadcast nationwide on the Telelatino network, the program offered testimonials given by Caritas residents, associations, school and social groups, along with businesses and dignitaries.
Ramin Deravian, assistant executive director for Caritas, was thankful to all those involved in the campaign.
“Without our numerous volunteers, nearly 250 of them, we wouldn’t have had the success that we had,” said Deravian.
“We’d also like to thank our supporters who have been so generous. Our campaign is still moving forth.”
Donations can be still made through www.caritas.ca or by calling 1-800-201-8138. Recommend this article...
