Papal commission for protection of minors meets in Rome

Pope Francis meets with Cardinal Sean P. O'Malley of Boston, president of the Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors, during a private audience at the Vatican April 4, 2019. Cardinal O'Malley was at the Vatican for meetings of the commission and also the Council of Cardinals, a group that advises Pope Francis.

VATICAN CITY - Cardinal Sean P. O'Malley told members of the Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors how much Pope Francis appreciated their efforts, particularly their proposal for a summit of leaders of the world's bishops' conferences and for the recently released safeguarding guidelines for Vatican City and the Roman Curia.
