The Dioceses of Amos and Rouyn-Noranda have been united in persona episcopi (in the person of the bishop) under Bishop Guy Boulanger.

Pope Francis accepted the resignation of Amos Bishop Gilles Lemay Sept. 16, the same day he united the dioceses under Boulanger. Boulanger has been Bishop of Rouyn-Noranda since January 2020. Lemay turned 75 earlier this year, when bishops generally resign. He has been Bishop of Amos since February 2011.

The Diocese of Amos has 58 parishes and missions and a Catholic population of just shy of 89,000. It is served by 14 diocesan priests, nine women who are members of institutes of consecrated life, four permanent deacons and two lay pastoral agents.
