Deaths in smuggler's truck 'completely senseless,' Texas archbishop says

At least nine people died from heat after dozens of migrants were found inside a smuggler's truck parked in San Antonio, Texas July 23.

SAN ANTONIO – The deaths of at least nine people due to heat in an alleged immigrant smuggler’s truck parked in San Antonio are an occasion for tears, prayers, and action to end such situations, the local archbishop has said.

Seminarian granted his deathbed wish to be ordained

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS - As William Carmona lay gravely ill in a San Antonio hospital bed, he repeatedly questioned his classmates from nearby Assumption Seminary: "Where is Bishop Choby?" "When will he get here?" And finally: "How many more hours until he ordains me?"
