CNEWA tackling new enemy

If the Church isn’t there for displaced and refugee Christians in the Middle East, nobody else is going to protect these impoverished and persecuted minorities from COVID-19.

World organizations make education for child refugees a priority

U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan attend the opening of the World Humanitarian Summit May 23 in Istanbul. The two-day gathering was conceived four years ago by Ban. In preparation, 23,000 people were consulted in more than 150 countries, according to U.N. officials.

Inspired by the Syrian crisis, a global fund for education for refugee children, announced at the World Humanitarian Summit, was welcomed by aid groups, including Catholic organizations.
