{mosimage}MISSISSAUGA, Ont. - The golfers spent six hours slapping a ball with a stick on a steamy July 9 to raise $92,000 in the annual Classic Golf Tournament sponsored by the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board. The money will help send up to 900 seven-to-13-year-old boys to summer camp.
Dufferin Peel educators and their IT contractor, Metafore IT Solutions, have been hosting an annual golf classic for 10 years. Each year the funds raised go to support a local charity which helps children. This year’s event took place at Rattlesnake Golf Club in Milton. The money raised will subsidize boys’ summer camp experiences at Four Winds Boys’ Camp, which used to be the Columbus Boys’ Camp on Lake Simcoe near Orillia.

Over 10 years the annual charity event has raised more than $820,000.
