MAiD money

As Alex Schadenberg points out in his April 28 Verbatim article, the commitment of the federal government to State-sponsored killing has gained astonishing momentum. Though promoted as mercy, the program looks more like an economically motivated cull. No doubt Canadians who are alive are more expensive than Canadians who are dead.

Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew used the Manitoba Multi-faith Council’s annual leadership breakfast to tell faith leaders he wants to change the prayer recited in the legislature to make it more inclusive.

Joannes Rivoire, the Oblate priest who was accused of sexually assaulting Nunavut children and teenagers, passed away on April 11 at the age of 93 in France, according to the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate. The late Rivoire departed Canada to his native France on Jan. 16, 1993.
