Advertising Sales Associate

The Catholic Register, Canada’s national Catholic weekly newspaper, seeks a full-time sales associate to coordinate its print and digital advertising operations. Beginning in June, this is a full-time position with benefits.

The sales associate is responsible for selling advertising and meeting targets for The Catholic Register newspaper, its website and other digital properties. The role requires someone who is organized, highly motivated, personable, diligent and goal-oriented.

The advertising sales associate will

  • Have experience in print advertising sales and selling advertising across online digital platforms
  • Present The Register’s advertising opportunities to clients by phone, email and personal meetings
  • Develop new business relationships through cold calls, research and sourcing leads
  • Prepare advertising invoices and sales reports
  • Devise innovative advertising strategies and draft proposals tailored to the needs of each client
  • Be computer savvy and able to work with spreadsheets, ad management software and data-base technology


Job Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a faith-based environment that requires interaction with Church leaders, religious institutions, Catholic charities and other faith-based organizations.
  • Self-motivated, with a friendly nature and driven to meet sales targets
  • Strong networking skills via telephone, social media and email
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships easily with clients and colleagues
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and writing skills
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Strong organization and planning skills
  • Proficiency in social media a definite asset
