Neocatechumenal Way helped him find his way

Bartlomiej Palczewski, 32, was born and raised in Poland, where he graduated from the University of Technology in electrical engineering, before working as a computer programmer. He was in Grade 7 when he first heard the call to the priesthood.
“I remember I was 14, I went for my first pilgrimage ever, and on this pilgrimage something happened,” he said.
“I was touched for the first time by God. I confessed, really, I saw my sins. And I felt so joyful at the end.”
Still, it took him almost a decade before he was mature and free enough to answer this call. The crucial help came from a Christian formation called the Neocatechumenal Way, and from the Pope’s messages in various World Youth Days.
“God was preparing to lead the way. Nothing was impossible, He opened new paths and things that I thought were impossible,” Palczewski said.
He joined Redemptoris Mater Seminary in Toronto in 2001, and since then has been preparing for the priesthood to serve the people of the archdiocese of Toronto.
