New trustee, superintendent for Halton board

BURLINGTON, Ont. (Catholic Register Staff) — Sandor Koso will be the new trustee for Milton with the Halton Catholic District School Board.
Koso was selected out of 18 candidates vying to replace Fr. David Wilhelm, who resigned from the board June 24. Koso’s term began July 2.

“We are very pleased to have Sandor join our board of trustees” and “are confident that his strong commitment to community and family and his dedication to Catholic education will enable him to have a positive and meaningful impact on the Milton community and our Catholic school system,” said board chair Alice Anne LeMay in a June 30 news release.
A professional engineer, Koso has for the past 12 years been co-op co-ordinator at the University of Waterloo. He is a eucharistic minister and serves on the pastoral advisory council at Milton’s Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
The board also approved the appointment of Jacqueline Herman as new superintendent of education (school effectiveness) at its June 30 special board meeting. Her duties commence in mid-August.
Herman has been involved in Catholic education for the past quarter century, as a teacher, vice-principal and principal with the Halton and Dufferin-Peel Catholic boards.
“Throughout her more than 25 years as a Catholic educator, Jacqueline has always demonstrated her passionate belief in student success and her commitment to Catholic education,” said director of education Michael Paulter in a news release.
