The end of Western civilization is upon us

How vividly I can still hear them — as though it were recently — the raucous cries resounding across university campuses in the 1960s and early ’70s: “Hey ho, hey ho, Western civ has got to go.”
To those protestors Western civilization was synonymous with everything they despised — racism, colonialism, sexism, etc. — and so they marched and shook their fists and shouted their slogan, “Hey ho, hey ho, Western civ has got to go.”
Half a century has passed since then. The youthful protesters are mostly retirees and pensioners. They got their wish. Western civilization has gone, practically vanished, because the glue that held it together — Christianity — has practically vanished, sad to say, even from many ostensibly Christian churches.
