O’Gara ecumenical essays published
January 16, 2015
TORONTO - One of Canada’s greatest theologians is still publishing more than two years after she died.
Margaret O’Gara, whose teaching on ecumenism and papal primacy formed a generation of Canadian scholars of the Church, has a final volume of essays coming out, thanks to her husband. Michael Vertin, who like O’Gara was a theology professor at the University of St. Michael’s College in Toronto, has assembled and completed a final volume of O’Gara’s essays called No Turning Back: The Future of Ecumenism.
Vertin will introduce the new book with a lecture and wine and cheese reception at the Toronto School of Theology, 47 Queen’s Park Cres. E., in Toronto between 4-5:30 p.m. on Jan. 23.
