There are many more questions than answers.
That’s the way it is with most tragedies but this one seemed even more perplexing, even more heart-rending.
A 54-year-old woman and her parents, aged 81 and 74, were found dead in a rural Nova Scotia home that had been destroyed by fire in mid-January.
A man who was the son and grandson of the victims was later charged with three counts of second-degree murder. The 30-year-old suspect, who lived with his grandparents, has been sent for a psychiatric evaluation.
The three funerals were held together at a little wooden United church in a rural community not far from where the victims were found. The triple funeral was fraught with sadness and despair for all who knew the victims and the suspect.
