Most of us go to church to pray. But beware, some prey.

Toronto’s cops are after a man who walked into the noon Mass at St. Michael’s Cathedral Sunday, Dec. 11 and walked out with a somebody else’s briefcase. The police are treating it as a “theft under $5,000” investigation.

The young, 5-foot-10 (178 centimetres) man with a buzz cut, wearing a red parka, khaki pants and sneakers was photographed in the pew and then leaving the church with the briefcase during Communion.

The briefcase belonged to a 79-year-old man and contained cash and personal belongings.
