Calgary priest on leave over misconduct allegations

A priest in the Diocese of Calgary has been placed on administrative leave over allegations of sexual misconduct involving two minors and several adults.

Fr. Malcolm D’Souza has been removed from priestly ministry by Bishop William McGrattan and an investigation is underway into the alleged misconduct at St. Mark’s Parish in Calgary, where D’Souza was pastor from 2010 to 2016. Police have also been contacted.

D’Souza, who was most recently with the St. Bernard’s and Assumption parishes, has held positions at a number Alberta parishes since 2002, including stops in Lethbridge, High River, Vulcan and Milk River.
