Christian Child Care International undergoes change

Christian Child Care International, a community development program based in Springhill, N.S., has changed its name to Chalice.

“By changing our name to Chalice, we are reducing the confusion and making ourselves easy to remember,” said Mark Warren, director of marketing.

The search for a new name has been in the works for several years. People have confused it with other organizations that sound similar. The hope is that the new name will be easier to remember.

“Our main objective is to let everyone know that we are a Catholic organization, whose morals and beliefs are reflected through the work we do,” said Warren.

Christian Child Care International helps provide clean drinking water, safe schools and infrastructure for children overseas. It often works through foster-parent programs and is linked with Catholic charitable organizations in the countries it serves.

The name change is expected to take one year, during which time Christian Child Care International’s business will be the same as usual. For more information, visit www.ccare.ca.
