Vandalism

Ottawa's St. Martin de Porres Parish has called for continued prayers as messages of support for the church continue to pour in from various religious communities after another act of vandalism was reported at the end of last month.

The Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) has condemned the recent defilement of multiple religious monuments, the most recent being an Edmonton-area statue of an Oblate priest vandalized May 29.

A University of Ottawa statue honouring the late Fr. Joseph-Henri Tabaret, OMI located steps from a pro-Palestinian encampment on campus was discovered vandalized on May 24.
