OTTAWA - A Quebec government bill to legalize euthanasia and assisted suicide in the province is being widely condemned and will be reviewed by the federal justice minister who said Canadian laws exist to protect all Canadians.
No one knows exactly how much money is hidden away by millionaires and corporations in offshore bank accounts, but accepted estimates put it as high as $30-trillion dollars. Much of that money is undeclared and untaxed.
Dear oh dear, how the consensus media spins and shakes as it tries to define Pope Francis within its own jejune, secular purview. Is he left, is he right, will he change the Church so that we in the relativist world are more comfortable with it? And now, forgive the pun, they’re all exercised about exorcism. Within moments of Pope Benedict’s resignation there was ill-informed speculation that a new pontiff would introduce sweeping reforms, which was really a euphemism for demanding that the Church be more like the average chattering class dinner party.

OXFORD, ENGLAND - A French Catholic campaigner urged Church leaders not to give up opposition to same-sex marriage, despite the spread of laws allowing the practice across Europe.
Saying grace before meals is a universal practice. Perhaps because of this, I was amused by the following quote from G.K. Chesterton: “You say grace before meals. All right. But I say grace before the concert and the opera, and grace before the play and pantomime, and grace before I open a book, and grace before sketching, painting, swimming, fencing, boxing, walking, playing, dancing and grace before I dip the pen in the ink.”
More than 5,000 people in Toronto on an average night sleep outdoors, in church basements, on buses, in shelters and in coffee shops. But staff at St. Michael’s Hospital didn’t have to go that far to find the homeless.
