Applauding Leo

Glen Argan’s recent column, “Papal ‘weakness’ threatens Trump’s power,” gets it right. Pope Leo appears ‘weak’ to Trump but the Pope’s strength comes from voicing the Gospel in his criticism of the president’s war with Iran.  Trump believes in power, and the Gospel message of peace is a threat to him. It would have been easier for the Pope to have said nothing or told Trump what he wanted to hear. I applaud Pope Leo for his faithfulness and bravery.
