Dying and rising

June 24, 2024

Being Catholic, for me, is believing in the Apostle’s Creed and the sacraments.

It is about living a life in the footsteps of Jesus Christ. As Catholics, we change hearts and minds, through actions and words, through reason, forgiveness and mercy, rather than by force, scorn or enactment of laws. It’s about living a life that brings joy to the human heart and fulfills the soul. Being Catholic is continually dying to the “old life” and rising to a new one. It is the only faith I know where all my sinfulness can be absolved today and I can start a fresh new life tomorrow. Where even the end is not the end, just a new beginning.
