Sense and sensational

I am writing to express my disappointment in recent editions of The Catholic Register, especially the Oct. 6, 2024, edition, which included the article: “Two priestly paths collide.”

I see no reason for the spotlight to be given to this unfortunate matter. This article, and the Register’s sensationalism of late, is contrary to the dignity of the human person and dismissive towards our Catholic responsibility to be compassionate. Your coverage depicts the kind of sensationalism that one expects to find in a supermarket tabloid. It is unworthy of a Catholic paper especially one that has had a long history of reporting on events in this diocese.
