On June 12, 2026, after a lengthy hiatus, Steven Spielberg will release his much-anticipated sci-fi movie entitled: “Disclosure Day” about extraterrestrial life making contact with Earth. The teaser shows a meteorologist (Emily Blunt) becoming possessed (yes, possessed) on air, and thus begins the dropping of the old UFO tropes: “We’re not alone!” “We now have proof!” “People have a right to the TRUTH!” “This TRUTH belongs to the whole world!” “Let’s release this information to everyone everywhere at the same time!”
To top it off and lend some authoritative gravitas to it all, a nun (yes, a black-and-white-habited nun) queries in an enraptured whisper: “Why would He make such a vast universe, yet save it only for us?” Oh dear. And if this “awakening” is so wonderful, why are the colour palette, music and visuals as creepy as hell?
Spielberg has long been a UFO enthusiast, with his 1977 Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and 1982’s E.T. both blockbusters. Interestingly, the producer of the 2025 documentary Age of Disclosure (Amazon Prime’s highest grossing documentary ever), is a close collaborator of Spielberg, as are other alien-believers. AOD is a supposed exposé of the secretive world of UFOs, aliens, alien corpses, captured/impounded spacecraft, UAPs, NIH (non-human intelligences), sightings and abductions throughout (at least) the 20th century.
The team of filmmakers made the rounds of podcasts and news shows to tell us: “The government doesn’t want you to see this! People are risking their lives to be in this film!” Really? Much of this information is being declassified as we speak, and some of the interviewees are pretty high level (even sitting) politicians or military.
I think the opposite might be true: The government does want you to see this. Why? Because this information could be used to prepare us and shape us for an upcoming response to such earth-shaking revelations, further such revelations, or some kind of upcoming event.
I used to think: “If God created aliens, He didn’t have to tell us about it.” All well and good…in theory. However, if aliens were going to interact with humans someday, God would have to have told us about them in His Word, and there ain’t no aliens in the Bible, or rather, not exactly. We’ll get back to that.
Why would God have to tell us about this interaction? Because it’s rather cataclysmic. How do we know if they’re good or not? Do they come in peace (and even if they say they do—can we trust them)? What is their place in the divine order? Human beings are a very big cosmic deal because of the Incarnation. "To which of the angels did God ever say: 'you are my Son, this day I have begotten you'?" (Hebrews 1:5)
Back to the Bible. There is other intelligent life in God’s Creation. They’re called angels. There are good ones and bad (fallen) ones, and the fallen ones appear as serpents, and can take on other appearances in order to deceive us.
Would you be surprised to learn that those who have been contacted by “aliens,” or say they were abducted, were able to stop the unpleasant experiences by calling on the name of Jesus? Even non-Christians and non-believers have used the name of God, a hymn or line from Scripture with the same success. Exorcists have seen "the greys" manifest. To those who say: “I think we should be open”…be careful. We should never open our souls to the unknown, only to what is certainly from God.
What about those ancient artifacts of what appear to be flying saucers and the like? Um, yes. The devil is very old. What more deviously brilliant scheme than to plant evidence for aeons, building up to the ultimate “revelation” during a time of mass apostasy and falling away, when people are rejecting their only Saviour and looking for a new one from the skies?
The conjecture is that the final alien deception will be a manifestation of these “evolved beings” who have “solutions” for us stupid and bellicose “hairless bipeds” (“Screwtape Letters”). They will pat Jesus on the head and say He was a great teacher, but that’s all we could handle at the time. Now we are finally ready to understand who God really is. They will claim to be bringing us harmony, prosperity and advanced technology to end all suffering on Earth. But before they can help us, we just have to submit to this one thing....
