The classic Christmas favourite, “The Bells of St. Mary’s,” is truly a slice of history. I’m an advocate of watching (quality) old movies to get a sense of the past and “the way we were.” Are older Hollywood depictions true to life? In some ways, yes. If priests and nuns in BOSM were portrayed in some totally unrealistic, overly idealized fashion, there would have been a contemporaneous outcry of “foul!” There wasn’t.

In theory, the idea of organ donations is laudable. In current practice, it is condemnable. The demand for organs is insatiable and highly profitable. Injured or ailing individuals and families are pressured mercilessly to not allow themselves or their loved ones the time or resources to heal, but to instantly give up and “be a hero” by choosing to donate their organs.

Do you remember the number one fear we had when the Digital Revolution began? I do. When we saw our beloved books, indispensable reference tomes, and vital paper documents migrating to online spaces.

Anything media-wise can be faked today. Anything. We are living in a world of smoke and mirrors and deep deception like never before, because we have powerful tools of deception like never before.

Have we been scammed by Artificial Intelligence? Or more accurately, have we been scammed by a handful of companies and their powerful CEOs to believe that AI is the answer to all our human limitations?
