Venerable Fulton Sheen's niece continues to fight for his body, progress his sainthood cause

NEW YORK – The case involving the transfer of the remains of Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen from New York to Peoria, Illinois, has been sent back to the original court by the New York Court of Appeals for an evidentiary hearing.

'Pedalling priests' complete 550-km bicycle trek for vocation prayers

The first leg of Priests Pedaling for Prayers took Father Michael Pica, Father Tom Otto and Father Adam Cesarek about 70 miles (113 km) over several major hills in central Illinois April 24. Support vehicles driven by parents Don Otto and Jim and Sandy Cesarek made certain the young priests and their friends were safe on the road during their five-day trek to promote religious vocations.

PEORIA, Ill. – After riding bicycles a little more than 340 miles (547 km) over five days, three young priests of the Diocese of Peoria sailed across the Indiana state line April 28, bringing Priests Pedalling for Prayers to a close.

New York court rules Archbishop Sheen's remains should be transferred to Peoria

Archbishop Fulton Sheen’s family won a court decision to allow them to move his remains back to the Diocese of Peoria.

PEORIA, Ill. – The Supreme Court of the State of New York ruled Nov. 17 in favor of the family of Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen regarding their request to allow the transfer of the sainthood candidate's remains to Peoria, where he was raised and ordained a priest.
