Bishop Assignments

Before May 19, Bishop-designate Ken Thorson, OMI, was primed and excited over his next appointment from the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate Canada: serving as pastor of St. Joseph’s Church in Ottawa.

Oblate Father Kenneth Thorson has been chosen the next Bishop of the Prince Albert diocese.

Pope Leo XIV has accepted the resignation of Bishop P. Fabbro, CSB, of London, and has appointed the current Bishop of Peterborough, Daniel J. Miehm, as his successor.

A “soil man who became a soul man” is now the apostolic administrator of the Diocese of Charlottetown on Prince Edward Island.

Hamilton's Cathedral Basilica of Christ the King was packed to capacity as faithful family, friends, clergy and dignitaries gathered to welcome their newest shepherd, Bishop Joseph Dabrowski, officially installed as the 10th Bishop of Hamilton.

On Feb. 2, Bishop Joseph Dabrowski will arrive at Christ the King Basilica not as a stranger, but as a familiar shepherd returning home to Ontario as the Diocese of Hamilton prepares to officially welcome the 10th bishop in its 170-year history.

Edmonton Archbishop Stephen Hero, formally installed Jan. 23, now spiritually shepherds a city and region he called home for over 40 years.

Archbishop-designate Stephen Hero said he is not coming to Edmonton “with an agenda in my pocket.”
